Cala Bona has expanded from a tiny traditional fishing village into a bustling resort on Majorca's quieter east coast. The original character of Cala Bona is shown as the resort features a number of the original narrow streets. The harbour is the focal point of the resort of Cala Bona. The harbour has been redeveloped recently and now provides a range of open air cafes, bars and restaurants. Most of the Cala Bona tourist excursions are available by the harbour.

The local council have started to deal with this problem by regular removal of the seaweed to prevent a build up. Cala Bona's lovely beaches are now probably much improved thanks to the regular maintenance.
