Peace and quiet go hand-in-hand at the Floriana. Sat in a tranquil residential area it's just the place for laid-back days in the sun. Taking centre stage here are the inviting swimming pools. There are two lagoon-shaped ones to select from, both enveloped by spacious sun terraces. The usual accessories are here too, like sun beds, umbrellas and a snack bar. And it's all bordered by gorgeous gardens. A holiday at Protur Floriana Resort in Cala Bona offers a relaxing base with plenty of traditional Majorcan charm. Cala Bona is a relatively quiet family resort, ideal for families and couples but the younger set dont have to miss out on the party scene which is centred in the nearby larger and livelier sister resort of Cala Millor, which is within around 15 minutes walking distance and is also accessible via a short taxi ride or seafront mini-tram service. The resort of Cala Bona and the twin resort of Cala Millor are set on the eastern coast of the mediterranean jewel of Majorca. The two resorts are just a 5 minute taxi trip or 20 minutes walk for the more energetic. Most places in Majorca are dominated by either English or German tourists. Cala Bona is definitely a British resort while Cala Millor is a little different as a mixed destination in that both British and German tourists visit in large numbers. Cala Bona is certainly the quieter of the two places making it ideal for young families. In Cala Bona the majority of the evening entertainment is set in local hotels. Staying at Protur Floriana Resort in Cala Bona is probably not for holidaymakers wanting to party every night away but Cala Millor is the place to head for night life and as of course is only a 5 minute taxi trip or a 20 minute walk away. Cala Bona has grown from a small Spanish fishing village into an important tourist resort on Majorca's quieter east coast. The original character of Cala Bona is still shown as the resort still has several narrow streets. The harbour is the focal point of the town of Cala Bona. The harbour has been revamped recently and now features a number of open air cafes, bars and eateries. Most of the tourist excursions from Cala Bona are available by the harbour. If you decide to take a holiday based at Protur Floriana Resort in Cala Bona there are stacks of things to do. Cala Bona includes a series of small sandy beaches enclosed between artificial rocky breakwaters forming calm, sheltered waters ideal for swimming and paddling in relative safety. In recent years the breakwaters seem to have formed a natural trap for the local seaweed to gather both in the water and on the beach. Son Severa council have started to deal with this problem by removing the seaweed and hence avoiding it accumulating. Cala Bona's lovely beaches are now probably in fine fettle thanks to the regular maintenance. So a holiday in Cala Bona at Protur Floriana Resort certainly offers all the ideal ingredients for a magical Majorcan holiday, stunning beaches, superb restaurants and stunning scenery. Cala Bona has a newly reformed harbour and pedestrianised zone as its focal point. If you decide to holiday at Protur Floriana Resort you can chill out in one of the many restaurants and cafes that surround this traditional heart of the resort. The beaches of Cala Bona and Cala Milor offer plenty of space to lounge, along with loads of watersports like sailing and windsurfing. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
