Picture the scene. You're sitting in a cafe, looking out over a Spanish harbour. The sky's melting into shades of pink and mauve as the sun begins to set. Yachts and boats are bobbing in the breeze. You raise a glass of wine to your lips and think to yourself, 'this is the life'. Sounds good, doesn't it? Well that's what evenings are all about at the Hotel Cala Bona.

Set right in the centre of town, this place has got its own pavement cafe overlooking the marina. What's more, all of the resort's shops, bars and restaurants are more or less on your doorstep. But that's not all on the location front – the hotel's just a minute's stroll from the beach, too. Simply grab a towel and some suncream and reveal yourself a spot on the soft golden sands.

If, however, you prefer chilling out by the pool, the sun terrace is with a scattering of loungers and parasols where you can laze away your days. We've enjoyed a long past with the Hotel Cala Bona and as such the hotel's very much in tune with the needs of British holidaymakers. For example, they know how to knock up a top-notch cooked breakfast to kick start your day.

And come night-time, dancing's laid on in the bar so you can enjoy a great old boogie. It's little things like this that have made this place such a hit with visitors who come back time and time again. So, if you're after somewhere central, near to the beach and that offers a real home-from-home feeling, you can't go wrong with the Hotel Cala Bona.

A holiday at Hotel Cala Bona in Cala Bona offers a relaxing base with plenty of traditional Majorcan charm. Cala Bona is a relatively quiet family resort, ideal for families and couples but the younger set dont have to miss out on the party scene which is centred in the nearby larger and livelier sister resort of Cala Millor, which is within around 15 minutes walking distance and is also accessible via a short taxi ride or seafront mini-tram service.

Cala Bona and the neighbouring resort of Cala Millor are located on the eastern coast of the Baleric island of Majorca. The twin resorts are separated by a 5 minute taxi ride or a 20 minute walk for those who enjoy fresh air.

Many holiday destinations in Majorca are focused on either British or German tourists. Cala Bona itself is very much a British resort while Cala Millor is a little different as a mixed holiday town where both English and German tourists flock to in large numbers. Cala Bona is certainly the quieter of the two towns making it ideal for young families. In Cala Bona the majority of the entertainment takes part in hotels. Staying at Hotel Cala Bona in Cala Bona is certainly not for holidaymakers wanting to party every night away but Cala Millor offers a more active night life and as of course is only a 5 minute taxi ride or 20 minutes walk away.

Cala Bona has expanded from a tiny Balearic fishing village into an important resort on Majorca's less developed east coast. The original village of Cala Bona is shown as Cala Bona still has several original narrow streets. The harbour is an interesting part of the resort of Cala Bona. The harbour has been revamped recently and now offers a range of al fresco cafes, bars and eateries. Most of the local tourist excursions can be booked by the harbour.

If you choose a holiday staying at Hotel Cala Bona in Cala Bona there are loads of things to do. Cala Bona features a series of smallish sandy beaches enclosed between man made breakwaters forming calm, sheltered lagoons ideal for swimming and paddling in relative safety. Over recent years these breakwaters appear to have formed a trap for the local seaweed to accumulate both in the water and on the beach. The local council have been proactive in dealing with this problem by regular removal of the seaweed to avoid a build up. The beaches of Cala Bona are now probably much improved because of thanks to the local council.

So a holiday in Cala Bona at Hotel Cala Bona certainly offers all the ideal ingredients for a magical Majorcan holiday, stunning beaches, superb restaurants and stunning scenery. Cala Bona has a newly reformed harbour and pedestrianised zone as its focal point. If you decide to holiday at Hotel Cala Bona you can chill out in one of the many restaurants and cafes that surround this traditional heart of the resort. The beaches of Cala Bona and Cala Milor offer plenty of space to lounge, along with loads of watersports like sailing and windsurfing.
