Most local car rental branches operate out of Cala Millor which is larger than both Cala Bona and Sa Coma.

If you want to hire a car when visiting Cala Bona, Cala Millor or Sa Coma then it really pays too decide if you want to hire a car for your entire trip or if you just want to hire a car for a few days. Suprisingly it is sometimes cheaper to hire a care for an entire week from the airport than it is to rent a car for say three days in the resort. Basically this anomally is probably due to the intense pressure of lots of car hire firms competing against each other to win the high volume car rental business at Palma airport while the Cala Bona and Cala Millor resorts have far fewer firms competing against each other for a much lower volume of car hire and usually shorter term car rentals, so basically they usually have to charge more to remain viable.

If your holiday does not include transfers from the airport to resort then you can probably save yourself money by renting a car from Palma de Mallorca airport (PMI). Another reason to book your car hire for collection from the airport is if you have a young family that don't like travelling in resort transfer coaches as the resorts of Cala Bona, Cala Millor and Sa Coma are over an hour by coach plus you are dropping off other holidaymakers at various different hotels. If you do rent your car hire from Palma Airport then make sure to tell your travel rep who is waiting to tick your name off at the airport that you are making your own way to the holiday accomodation otherwise you will have a coach load of people waiting for you and you will not be very popular with your fellow holidaymakers!
