The Coma Gran has as all the ingredients for an splendid summer family getaway. The hotel is falling withing the Thomson FamilyClub Xtra range so the entire complex is fully kitted out with everything to keep families happy. There's a creche, a Miracle playground and a Thomson kids' club open six days a week. Plus there's a soft play den for tots, a teen hangout and an exceptional children's buffet serving up their favourites. With so much to offer younger visitors, the adults have not been forgotten and there is plenty to spend some quality relaxation time with here. Let the stresses of life melt away in the sauna. Have a workout in the gym or maybe take time to chill out by or in the pool. The pool is shaped like a massive comic strip speech bubble and it's all sunk into a roomy terrace accessorised with sun loungers, sun-shades and palm trees. The little ones have not been forgotten either as there is a separate paddling pool.

Another massive plus point here is that it's just a minute's stroll from the beach. It's a good gold swathe that's faultless for sunbathing, sandcastles and swimming. And the resort's shops, bars and restaurants are all within easy walking distance, too. Handy if you're self-catering. The half board option is very popular though - testament to the huge buffet breakfasts and dinners here.

As for the apartments, you couldn't ask for more. They're fresh, contemporary and spacious with kitchenettes and separate lounge areas. What's more, the variety of room types here means there's something for all family sizes – whether it's a studio with sofa beds or a two-bed apartment. Factor in a friendly service and evening entertainment and that just about covers it. No wonder so many visitors comment that the Coma Gran deserves another star rating.
